My friend told me to get a book for Ruby or php... He's a programmer; wants me to get involved with his side projects a bit. It would be awhile before I got up to speed, of course. I suppose there isn't much of a rush, though.

I'm adding the ability to post to Choka from Twitter. Contact me (birdhead -at- chokaonit.com) if you're interested, right now I need to manually make a tweak in the database to enable it. From then you can post to Choka by sending a tweet like "@choka line one / line two".

Few more details about Twitter and Choka:
- Tweets get pulled every 5 minutes.
- Separate lines with a single slash. Currently there's no provision for a couple that's supposed to have a slash in the text.
- If you don't submit an even number of lines, you'll get a Twitter direct message back from choka saying so, and the non-couplet won't go into the choka.
- Other errors will result in direct messages. Contact me about those.
Otherwise, it should just work. (Famous last words.) Don't publicize this heavily yet, this feature is still a bit raw and it needs more time on the grill before general public consumption.

FYI, there were some couplets of dubious virtue posted yesterday which I whacked from the database. Not our usual policy, but these were obviously obnoxious and needed to be removed.

@anne -- belated thanks! I'm glad that my Chokastic contributions (rare as they are these days) are still read and appreciated. I hope you also enjoy my latest middle-of-the-night, gotta-get-this-onto-the-Choka-and-out-of-my-brain-so-I-can-sleep series.
"Effortless"? What a wonderful compliment. But to me, Chokaing is a bit like Tetris. I have all these thoughts about what I want to write, and I can see the next few in advance, but it takes a few tries to get the right number of syllables to fall onto each line without having the whole thing devolve into chaos. But, like Tetris, it's still more fun than it is work.
